This past Saturday, November 16th, we held our bi-annual Really, REALLY Big Book Sale. The day was nothing short of a massive success. The sun was shining, people were smiling, and books were selling! Twice a year, we are astonished by the support we receive at the Really, REALLY Big Book Sale from volunteers and shoppers alike.
Our volunteers are the backbone of the Friends—we could not operate without them. To our regular volunteers who sort donations and keep the Carriage House running, the Friday crew who hauled 120 plus boxes of books from the basement of Latter to the front porch, the high school students who set up the sale on Saturday morning, and Dr. Jelagat Cheruiyot’s student group from Tulane University who did essential cleanup after the sale, we cannot thank you enough!
Although this season’s Really, REALLY Big Book Sale has passed, the time for book shopping never ends. Be sure to stop by one of our regular book sales when you’re ready to find your next reading material.
And, finally, thank you to our supporters who came to the Really, REALLY Big Book Sale. It’s because of you that we can sponsor the excellent library programming that we do. When you buy a bargain book from us, you’re funding early literacy programs, STEM classes for teens, and so much more.
