Bargain “Front Porch Book Sale” February 8

Bargain “Front Porch Book Sale” to benefit the New Orleans Public Library

On Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 10 AM – 2 PM the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library (FNOPL) will host a book sale at the Milton H. Latter Library, 5120 St Charles Ave, New Orleans, Louisiana.

The beautiful porch at the Latter Library will be stocked to the gills with ALL genres of books for sale. The most exciting part of the sale is that every book will be $1 or less! In addition, hundreds of childrens books will be available and for only $5, your little one gets to decorate a grocery bag and then fill it with as many of their favorite reading selections as they want. This includes board books through young adult.

Through fundraisers like this one, FNOPL Executive Director Dixon Stetler says not only is the nonprofit able to fund important Library programs, but also provide access to high quality reading materials that are affordable to all.
“We love that we’re able to raise money for Library programming while at the same time, creating a way for people of any income to be able to purchase the books they want for themselves and their families,” Stetler said. “We believe books should be accessible to all and events like this are important to achieving that vision.”
The Friends of the New Orleans Public Library raises funds from events like these year-round to underwrite critical library programming, including the annual Summer Reading Program, Black History Month Programming, and the Every Child Ready to Read Program.
